Moderation Policy

1st offense

@Staff calls out the behavior as inappropriate.

2nd offense

Timed out for 24 hours.
You won't be able to send or react to messages or join voice channels.

3rd offense

Banned from BentoVid for 1 Week.
(In some cases you may be timed out for 1 week instead.)

4th offense

Banned for 1 year or permanently based on the severity of the offenses.

Additionally

If a staff member isn't present when the offense happens, punishment will be dealt when one becomes available.
⚠️ If you leave the server while timed out, you are automatically banned permanently.

What counts as an offense

Anything that goes against the rules, which includes when it happens in a voice channel.

Rule 1 also covers being rude, which can include:

Posting random things in the middle of ongoing/active conversations.
We have 2 general talk channels. Use the one that isn't interrupting anyone.

Unnecessary and/or superfluous pings/mentions.
Don't ping several people for no reason. Don't abuse the ping list roles. Don't ping people after they ask you not to ping them.

UNPROMPTED negative statements.
Before disagreeing with someone, ask yourself if this is a discussion or if you are about to rain on their parade.
You're allowed to have disagreements in discussions & debates, but if (as an example) people are celebrating something, it is completely unnecessary to insert how much you hate that thing.

Rule 2: NSFW content also refers to being incredibly "horny on main."

Contain yourself. There are minors here.

Rule 3: Self-promotion is more than videos you've made.

Posting links to things you own or manage UNPROMPTED and/or making no effort to encourage discussion counts as self-promo.
Exceptions are:

Your #introductions

Any conversations, discussions, channels, or threads explicitly asking for your content (like your pets in #⁠corner-chats, linking a guide you wrote in ⁠#editing-help, your vids in #⁠vid-share, your art in #⁠art, etc.)

Preserving our server culture is important to us.
Please ⁠#contact-staff if someone is making you feel uncomfortable and/or hesitant to interact in the server.

"Backseat moderating" isn't something that is policed in this server. Please point out the rules to others.

A disagreement is not an argument; people are allowed to disagree on things as long as they remain civil.

If someone tells you to stop doing something, stop doing it.

If someone asks you to change the topic of conversation, or to move it somewhere else, please do so.

Ban Appeals

"I got banned. Can I get unbanned?"

There is no formal bans appeals process so the most likely answer is no, you will never be unbanned.
